It took knocking the wind out of his sails, knocking him down a few pegs, knocking a couple teeth loose, before Samson understood it wasn't himself that made him mighty. Despite his arrogant insistence on learning life the hard way and in spite of his selfish embarrassment of his people, his family, his beliefs, and his God, Samson ultimately received and delivered the redemption he was meant to. Sometimes we have to get out of our own way to find the right path forward. Comes out February 16th, right around that famously bloody holiday, Valentine's Day.
Beyond hopefully being a good learning movie, it is good to see Rutger Hauer once more. And Taylor James shares my birthday.
